Machine actions Causes Solutions
The machine grinds co ee
beans but no co ee comes out.
(see note)
There is no water. Fill the water tank and prime the circuit
(see the "Using the Machine for the
First Time" chapter).
The brew group is dirty. Clean the brew group (see the "Weekly
Cleaning of the Brew Group" chapter).
The circuit is not primed. Prime the circuit (see the "Using the
Machine for the First Time" chapter).
This might occur when the machine
is automatically adjusting the dose.
Brew a few cups of co ee as described
in the “Saeco Adapting System” chapter.
The dispensing spout is dirty. Clean the dispensing spout.
Co ee is too weak.

This might occur when the machine
is automatically adjusting the dose.
Brew a few cups of co ee as described
in the “Saeco Adapting System” chapter.
Co ee is brewed slowly.

The co ee grind is too  ne. Change co ee blend or adjust grind-
ing as explained in the Adjusting the
Ceramic Co ee Grinder” chapter.
The circuit is not primed. Prime the circuit (see the "Using the
Machine for the First Time" chapter).
The brew group is dirty. Clean the brew group (see the "Weekly
Cleaning of the Brew Group" chapter).
Co ee leaks out of the dispens-
ing spout.
The dispensing spout is clogged. Clean the dispensing spout and its
holes.
Frothed milk is too cold. The cups are cold. Preheat the cups with hot water.
The milk is not frothed.
The milk does not come out.
The milk carafe is dirty or not
inserted correctly.
Clean the carafe and insert it correctly.
The milk carafe dispenser has not
been removed correctly.
Check that the milk dispensing spout
has been removed correctly.
The milk carafe is not fully
assembled.
Make sure that all components have
been correctly assembled.
The type of milk used is not suitable
for frothing.
Use the type of milk suggested in the
"Milk Carafe" chapter.
The machine is in demo mode.
The button was pressed and
held for more than 8 seconds.
Disconnect the power cord and turn
the machine back on.
Note:
* These problems can be considered normal if the co ee blend has been
changed or if the machine has just been installed. In this case wait until the
machine performs a self-adjusting operation as described in the "Saeco
Adapting System" chapter.
