7.1. PR9’s FIRMWARE UPDATING OPERATION
PR9 Specialized Multifunctional Printer offers two methods to update
firmware.
Using normal parallel board to update firmware
Using special downloading board to update firmware.
In ordinary circumstances, please use normal parallel board to update
firmware. But special downloading board must be used to update firmware
under the following circumstances:
－ flash IC on the main board is blank
－ firmware updating is broken accidentally
－ unsuccessful updating by using normal parallel board
Steps to update firmware are as following:
1. Using normal parallel board
1) Fit on normal parallel board, connect power cable and parallel cable
correctly, make sure that PC has no data being ready to transmit or
being transmitting (otherwise please delete data in PC’s LPT port
before updating, for detailed operation pls refer to APPENDIX 1)
2) Press PR9’s STOP▉ key and turn on the printer, LCD shows :
Hold on to press STOP▉ key until LCD shows as:
Release STOP▉ key and LCD shows as:
