- Twenty VP 160KM cells (32OA) (make sure their polarities are
correct as shown in figure 701)
- The temperature sensor (Refer to paragr. C)
- All links on the cells with the spring washers (370A) and the nuts
(350A). Torque the nuts to 8 f 2 N.m (5.90 + 1.47 ft.lbf).
- The hold-down bar (240A) and fix it with the screws (llOA), the
nuts (120A) and the washers (030A).
- One nut (250A) on the positive terminal of one end cell and one nut
(250A) on the negative terminal of the other end cell (Refer to
figure 701).
Lightly lubricate the terminals and the links with neutral petrolatum
or light oil (use a paintbrush).
- Install:
- The cover (050A) and affix it with the screws (020A) and spring
washers (030A).
- The spring washers (260A).
- The nut (270A) on the positive terminal.
- The nut (280A) on the negative terminal.
2. Storaqe
A. Preparation of the battery before storage
- Adjust the electrolyte levels (Refer to "CHECK", paragraph 2.A (1).
Then discharge at a constant current of 16 amps down to a terminal
voltage of 20 volts.
