5.2 Cleaning
Inspect and clean the instrument and replace consumables as described in
this manual, to prevent instrument malfunction and failure.
5.2.1 Inspection and Cleaning
When inspecting or cleaning the instrument, be careful not to get burned by the
molten parafn or the hot water used for cleaning. When cleaning the instrument,
do not use any organic solvents such as xylene. The coatings and materials on/of
the exterior panels, control panel display and labels may deteriorate.
5.2.2 Cleaning the Cryo Module

Clean the cooling plate After every use
When the Cryo Module has become dirty, follow the steps below to clean the
module. Have the following items ready:
• Scraper (accessory)
• Lint-free paper
1. Turn off the respective switch of the Cryo Module and Embedding Module.
2. Wait until the Cryo Module temperature becomes the same as room
temperature.
3. Remove parafn attached to the cooling plate and exterior panels using
the scraper wrapped with a lint-free paper.
CAUTION:
Do not scratch the surface of the cooling plate. If the cooling
plate is scratched, moisture may enter from the scratches
and cause the surface coating to peel.
4. Using a lint-free paper, wipe off any water droplets or foreign matters
attached to the cooling plate.
