8 Malfunctions
Read hazard statements, warnings and
caution notes in the 'Safety instructions and
measures' section.
Depending on the operating conditions,
check the valve at certain intervals to prevent
possible failure before it can occur. Plant op-
erators are responsible for drawing up an
inspection and test plan.

Increased ow through
closed valve (seat
leakage)
Dirt or other foreign
particles deposited
between the seat and
plug.
Shut off the section of the pipeline and ush the
valve.
Valve trim is worn out. Contact our after-sales service.
The valve leaks to the
atmosphere (fugitive
emissions).
Plug stem seal defective Contact our after-sales service.
Flanged joint loose or
gasket worn out
