Using the X (Flash X-Sync Speed) Mode
Using the Mode Dial
ƈ The shutter speed is locked at 1/180 second. Use this when using an External flash that does not
automatically change the shutter speed.
1. Set the mode dial to X.
ƃ Turn the rear e-dial to adjust the aperture value.
ƃ Press the Green button to retain the shutter speed at 1/180 sec and automatically adjust the
aperture.
ƃ When the sensitivity is set to [Auto] and exposure mode is set to X (Flash X-Sync Speed) mode,
the sensitivity is set to the minimum value set on the "Setting the Range of Automatic Correction
in AUTO (p.83)".

ƈ You can store the current camera settings and easily retrieve them simply by setting the mode dial to
USER.
1. Set the mode dial to USER.
