Privacy
Using the Privacy feature, you can prevent other extensions
from intruding on your calls with the Executive Override
(EOV) feature. If your extension’s class of service has the ‘In-
hibiting Break-in’ feature, you are protected against the break-
in operation automatically without having to assign the Privacy
feature separately (see your System Administrator for details).
To assign the Privacy feature before making a call:
• Pick up the handset and check for dial tone.
• Press the assigned
PRIVACY
key. If you do not have a
PRI-
VACY
key assigned, use the
SCROLL
key and the soft keys
to select PRIV from the OTHER menu.
• Dial your call when you hear dial tone.
External Call Lock
When an extension phone is unattended, a passcode can be en-
tered to prevent outgoing calls being made.
• Press the assigned
EXT CALL LOCK
key.
If you do not have an
EXT CALL LOCK
key assigned, use
the
SCROLL
key and soft keys to select LOCK from the
SET menu.
• Press the ✱
✱✱
✱ key.
• Dial the 4-digit number to be used as a passcode. You will
hear confirmation tone.
Cancelling External Call Lock
• Press the assigned
EXT CALL LOCK
key.
