Auto tape selector function
This unit automatically adjusts the bias current
and equalization by detecting the holes in the
shell of the cassette tape.
The detection holes in the cassette tape differ
according to the type of tape.
*Normal tapes do not have any detection
holes, and setting is made to “NORMAL” in
their case.
*Some metal tapes do not come with the de-
tection holes. In their case, setting is made to
“HIGH” which may mean that recording
cannot be conducted properly or that erasing
is insufficient. Pre-recorded metal tapes can
be played back without problems.
*It is recommended that you purchase metal
tapes with the detection holes that allow pro-
per recording and playback.
*Ferrichrome (Fe-Cr) tapes do not have any
detection holes and so proper recording and
playback are not possible with them.
Preventing accidental erasure of re-
corded cassette
In order to protect against accidental erasure of
important
tapes,
cassettes
are
equipped
with
erasure prevention tabs. There is one tab for
side
A
and
one
tab
for
side
B.
By
breaking
off
the proper tab with the tip of a screwdriver, the
mechanism
for
preventing
accidental
erasure
will engage and prevent re-recording of that side
even if the REC button is pushed.
Note:
Should you ever want to make a recording into
a cassette with such tabs already broken, seal
the tab openings with masking tape.

Cet appareil régle automatiquement le courant
de polarisation et I’égalisation en détectant les
orifices pratiqués sur la coquille de fa cassette.
Les orifices de détection d'une cassette varient
en fonction du type de bande.
* Les bandes ordinaires n’ont pas d’orifices de
détection et Je réglage dans leur cas se fait sur
“NORMAL”.
* Certaines bandes méta! ne sont pas dotées des
orifices de détection. Dans ce cas, le réglage
se fait sur “HIGH” ce qui peut vouloir dire
que |‘enregistrement ne sera pas effectué cor-
rectement et que I’effacement sera insuffisant.
Mais les bandes métal pré-enregistrées se liront
sans probleme.
* 11 est recommandeé d’acheter des bandes métal
qui soient dotées des orifices de détection de
facon a obtenir un enregistrement et une
jecture corrects.
*Les bandes au ferrichrome (Fe-Cr) ne possé-
dent pas d‘orifices de détection si bien qu’on
ne pourra pas obtenir un enregistrement et
une lecture corrects avec elles.
Pour éviter un effacement acciden-
tal d‘une cassette déja enregistrée
Dans le but de se protéger contre un effacement
accidentel de bandes enregistrées importantes,
les cassettes sont équipées de languettes des-
tinées a empécher un tel effacement. Il y a une
languette pour le cété A, et une languette pour
le c6té B. En brisant la languette correspon-
dante avec un tournevis, le mécanisme per-
mettant de se protéger contre un effacement
accidentel sera mis en ceuvre et empéchera d’af-
fectuer un nouvel enregistrement sur la méme
bande, et cela méme quand fatouche REC
est enfoncé.
Remarque:
Pour réenregistrer tout de méme une cassette
dont les languettes ont été déja brisées, re
couvrir les cativés formées avec du ruban ad-
hésif.

Bandsorten-Umschaltautomatik
Dieses Gerat besitzt eine Funktion, die fiir auto-
matische Einstellung des Vormagnetisierungs-
strom und der Entzerrung sorgt, indem sie die
Bandkenndffnungen im Cassettengehduse
abtastet.
Diese Bandkennéffnungen sind je nach
Cassettentyp verschieden.
*Normalbander weisen keine Bandkennéffn-
ungen auf, so da das Gerat in diesem Fall auf
"NORMAL" eingestellt wird.
*Die Metallbander mancher Hersteller sind
ebenfalls nicht mit Bandkenndéffnungen aus-
gestattet. Wird ein solches Band benutzt, so
erfolgt eine Ejinstellung auf ‘‘HIGH'’. Dies
kann u.U. dazu fiihren, dafé Aufnahmen nicht
richtig ausgefilhrt werden oder zum Léschen
einer Aufzeichnung nicht gentgend Lésch-
strom zugefuhrt wird. Bei der Wiedergabe von
kommerziell bespielten Metallbandern treten
keine Probleme auf.
* Aus dem oben genannten Grund méchten wir
Ihnen raten, nur Metallbander mit Band-
kenndffnungen zu kaufen, damit Aufnahme-
und Wiedergabebetrieb stets einwandfrei aus-
gefiihrt werden kann.
*Ferrichrombander (Fe-Cr) sind nicht mit
Bandkennéffnungen ausgestattet, so da ein-
wandfreie Aufnahme und Wiedergabe mit
dieser Cassettensorte nicht mdglich sind.
Aufnahmesperre
Um thre wertvollen Bandaufnahmen vor un-
beabsichtigtem Léschen zu schitzen, sind die
Kassetten mit Lamellen auf der Kassettenriick-
seite ausgeriistet, und zwar jeweils eine Lamelle
fir Seite A bzw. Seite B. Diese Lamellen sind
mit Hilfe eines Schraubenziehers auszubrechen;
wird eine so geschiltzte Kassette in das Gerat
eingesetzt, dann ist die Aufnahmesperre ak-
tiviert ,d.h. die REC-Taste kann nicht eingerastet
werden.

Wenn Sie auf einer Kassette mit herausge-
brochenen Zapfen eine neue Aufnahme machen
wollen, so uberkleben Sie die Offnung mit
Tesafilm.
