LISTENING TO AUX SOURCES
1. Select “AUX”.

Follow the instructions supplied with the auxiliary equipment.
BEFORE RECORDING
Recording copyright material without permission of the copyright
owners is usualiy an infringement. If you wish to re-record copyright
material, permission from the copyright owner is necessary. SANYO
does not approve of, and cannot be held responsible for, any unlaw-
ful use of this machine.
1. Load the cassette for recording.
2. Set the on NR button to on or off as desired.
3. Set tha reverse mode with the MODE button.

Fo~r~cording both sides in succession.
If recording has been started from the reverse side, only the
reverse side wili be recorded.
if a tape with one of its tabs already broken out is used for
recording, the tape will not be reversed automatically, and it will
stop.
If the REC/REC PAUSE or COMPUTER REC button is pressed
during (2) mode, the reverse mode will set a~omaticallY to
Z) mode.
,’ Automatic record muting (Using the remote control)
Undesirable parts of a programme can be omitted whiie recording.
Press the REC MUTE button once while recording. The REC/REC PAUSE
indicator biinks and a 5-second unrecorded blank space is created, then
the cassette deck enters the record pause mode.
To resume recording, press the
/11 button.
Note:
The record muting function does not operate during CD computer
recording.
To create an unrecorded blank of any length, hoid down the REC
MUTE button for the required time. The deck enters the record pause
mode when the button is released.
Accidental erasure prevention tabs (for protecting valu-
able recordings)
Accidental erasure can be prevented by breaking out the tabs on the end
of the cassette tape (where the tape is not exposed) using a screwdriver
or similar implement (Fig. 12).
If a tab is broken out in error and you wish to re-record the tape, simply
block the tab hoie using adhesive tape and the tape can be used for
recording again.

computer recording, a CD can be automatically recorded on a
cassette by pressing one button.
1. Load tie disc to be recorded.
2. Load= blank cassette.
3. Select “CD”.
4. Preea tie COMPUTER REC button. The system automatically per-
forrna tie foliowing functions:
Deck.
- The tape rewinds to the beginning.
- ~ording starts.
CD p%eiyec
- The player searches for the first track to be recorded, then enters
&se pause mode.
- CiD play starts.
The RECIREC PAUSE and
indicators iight, “COMPUTER REC”
and “SIDE A“ appear on the display as recording begins.
Note:
- Recosding starts automatically after 8 seconds, so the recording wili
not be interrupted by the leader tape at the beginning of sides A and
B.
- A 5.aacond biank space is automatically recorded at the end of each
track.
To@op computer recording at any time, press the
button. The CD
p}riyer and deck will stop. (The time editor programme edit mode is
stii operational.)
Te release the editing mode, press the •l button again.

- To record material from a different position on the tape, continue
recording manually.
Types of edit recording
The following edti recording operations can ba performed during com-
puter recording.
Time edit recording
Programme edit recording
Backward skip edit recording
Time editrecording
The tracks that wiil fii within a selected time period are automatically
programmed for recording on sides A and B of the tape. (The tracks are
edited so that the remaining time on the tape is reduced to a minimum).
Example:
To record onto a 50-minute tape (Fig. 13)
1. Press the EDIT button to select the recording tape length.
- Each time the EDIT button is pressed, the tape length display
changes in the following sequence:
G46-C54- C-60 -G74-C90-C ---- (Reieasecf) -
C46-...
To set the desired tape length up to C-99, use the JOG DIAL control.
To set “G50”, turn the control until “’C-50” appears on the display.
2. Press the TIME button.
