h) Continuity test
1. Insert the black probe into the “COM” jack and the red probe into the “ ” jack.
2. Set the function switch to “ ”. And then press and hold the “function selection”
button until an “
” symbol appears on the screen.
3. Connect the probes to the two ends of the circuit to be measured.
4. The built-in beeper sounds when the resistance is less than about 20
Ω
.
i) Diode test
1. Insert the black probe into the “COM” jack and the red probe into the “ ” jack.
(Note: The polarity of the red probe is “+”.)
2. Set the function switch to “ ”. And then press and hold the “function selection”
button until an “ ” symbol appears on the screen.
3. Connect the red probe to the positive pole of the diode to be measured and the black
probe to the negative pole.
4. Read the approximation of the forward voltage drop of the measured diode indicated
on the screen.
