SAVANT REMOTE AND BLASTER USER GUIDE37
RESETTING SAVANT PRODUCTS
NOTE: If you are having diculty with a device, we recommend powering it o and on before
you try resetting it. If you reset a device such as a Lamp Control, you remove it from your
Savant Home. You will need to add it to your Savant Home again, once the device has
powered up. If you reset the Savant Host, you remove all devices from your Savant Home,
and will need to add all devices again to recreate the configuration of your Savant Home.
Rather than begin troubleshooting by resetting a device, we strongly recommend first power
cycling the device and leaving the device unplugged and powered o for 30 seconds.
To power cycle a Savant Remote, remove the Savant Remote from its Base, press and hold the
power button on the top of the Remote for 5 seconds to fully power o the Remote, and then
unplug the Remote Base from its power cable.
To power cycle a Savant Lamp Controller, unplug it from the wall outlet.
To power cycle a Savant Blaster, remove its batteries.
To power cycle a Savant Host, unplug its power cable.
If power cycling does not fix the problem, we recommend that you next call Savant Support.
When instructed by Savant Support, you can reset a Savant Host, a Savant Remote Base, or a
Savant Lamp Control by inserting the straight end of a paper clip into a pinhole on the device. Be
sure that the device remains plugged into its power outlet when being reset.
Caution
The small hole next to the power button on the top of the Savant Remote is the
microphone. This opening is not a reset pinhole. Do not insert objects into the
microphone opening.
Pressing the reset pinhole or reset button for 5 seconds on the Remote Base, Lamp Control, and
Savant Blaster will reset that device. If a device has already been added to a Savant Home, resetting
the device removes it from the Savant Home and prepares the device so it can be added again.
Resetting a Savant Remote
The Savant Remote does not have a reset pinhole. The small hole next to the power button on the
top of the Remote is the microphone. This opening is not a reset pinhole. Do not insert objects into
the microphone opening.
To reset a Savant Remote, power the device completely o by pressing and holding the power
button for 5 seconds. Note that resetting the Remote with the power button will not clear the
device’s network information or remove the device from the configuration of your Savant Home.
To completely reset a Savant Remote, clearing the device’s network information and removing the
device from your Savant Home, press the reset pinhole on the Remote Base that is paired with the
Remote.
NOTE: Each Savant Remote is uniquely paired with its Remote Base. To reset a Savant Remote,
be sure you have identified the Remote Base originally packaged with the Remote.
