What to do if my SawStop CTS-120A60A motor stopped unexpectedly?
    • D
      David FieldsAug 21, 2025
If the motor stopped unexpectedly during use, but the brake didn't activate, consider these possibilities: * The Start/Stop paddle may have been bumped. Ensure it's in the OFF position, and then restart the saw. * The material being cut might be overloading the safety detection system (e.g., green or wet wood). Use a different wood or cut in Bypass Mode. * There may have been a temporary loss of electrical power. Ensure the electrical supply is on and that you are using the correct voltage. * The brake cartridge could be faulty. Replace it with a new one. * The arbor nut could be loose. Check its tightness and tighten if necessary.

Why did the brake activate on my SawStop Saw without contact?
    • S
      spencer68Aug 25, 2025
The brake may have activated without contact for the following reasons: * An electrically conductive material contacted the blade, arbor, or arbor pulley. Ensure no metal or other conductive material is touching these parts. Use Bypass Mode to cut conductive materials. * The spreader or riving knife came into contact with the blade. Ensure they are aligned and securely clamped in place, with a 4-8 mm gap between the blade and the spreader or riving knife. * The blade made contact with the brake pawl. Ensure there is a 1.5 mm to 3 mm gap between the teeth of the blade and the closest point on the brake cartridge. Use only a 10” blade.

What to do if I cannot remove the cartridge key from my SawStop CTS-120A60A?
    • A
      ashleybanksAug 26, 2025
If you cannot remove the cartridge key: * The retraction mechanism might not be reset, blocking access to the brake cartridge. Reset it by fully lowering the blade by turning the elevation wheel counterclockwise until it stops. You should hear the retraction mechanism snap back into the normal operating position. * The cartridge key may not be turned to the UNLOCKED position. Turn the key clockwise until it stops. * The shaft of the cartridge key might be binding in the cartridge or on the cartridge mounting bracket. Try turning and removing the key while pressing upward or downward on the key or cartridge.
