    • D
      Derrick BeckOct 27, 2025
The Bad Battery LED on your Schumacher Battery Charger may light up due to several reasons: if the battery voltage remains below 10V after 2 hours of charging, if in maintain mode the output current exceeds 1.5A for 12 hours, if desulfation fails, or if the battery voltage drops below 12.2V in Maintain Mode. To address this, ensure there are no loads on the battery; if present, remove them. If the issue persists, have the battery checked or replaced. To reset the charger, unplug it from the AC outlet, wait briefly, and then plug it back in. The battery may be defective. Have battery checked or replaced. The battery won’t hold a charge. What to do if the Schumacher Battery Charger has a short start cycle?
    • J
      jennamillerNov 15, 2025
If you experience a short or no start cycle when cranking the engine with the Schumacher Battery Charger, several factors could be at play. First, ensure there's power at the receptacle and that both the AC cord and any extension cords are securely connected. Also, check for a good connection at the battery and frame. Allow 3 minutes of rest time between cranks to let the battery and charger cool down. For a severely discharged battery, consider using the 10A Boost setting for a few minutes to aid cranking. Be aware that crank time can vary with the amount of current drawn; if cranking draws more than the Engine Start Rate, crank time may be less than 3 seconds. If the charger overheats, ensure the vents are unblocked, wait, and then try again. Check for open fuse or circuit breaker supply...
