Why does the green CHARGED light turn on quickly on my Schumacher SpeedCharge 1200A?

  If the green CHARGED light on your Schumacher Battery Charger turns on shortly after connecting to the battery, it could mean the battery is already fully or recently charged. This results in a high battery voltage that appears fully charged. To resolve this, if the battery is in a vehicle, turn on the headlights for a few minutes to lower the battery voltage, then try charging again. You can also try selecting a lower CHARGE RATE.

  If the CHECK (red) light on your Schumacher Battery Charger flashes before the battery is fully charged, it could be because the battery didn't reach full charge within 24 hours. This might happen with a very large battery or a bank of batteries needing more power than the charger can provide in that time. A faulty battery could also be the reason. To fix this, reset the charger by unplugging it or briefly disconnecting the negative battery clip. Then, if needed, select the desired charge rate and battery type again.

  If the measured current on your Schumacher Battery Charger is much lower than what you selected, it could be normal. The charger may have reached the maximum voltage and is reducing the current, or it detected an over-temperature condition and reduced the current to cool down. Ensure the side ventilation holes are not blocked and move the charger out of direct sunlight into a shaded area.
