Removing the power supply
Before starting any work unplug the mains plug and remove the batteries!
ESD protection measures must be taken whenever work is performed on electronic components.
1. Opening the scale
When replacing
- platform load cell "P", DMS – Basic "D", mains connection "N", follow the instructions in sections
1.1 to 2.3 (page 3)
- display board "AP", battery connection "BA", membrane keyboard "FT" follow the instructions in
section 2.4 (page 4)
1.1 Turn the scale over and set the platform surface "B" on a table (table height min. 900 mm) or a
similar worktop (page 3, diagram 1). Slacken the 4 M4 hex. nuts "A".
1.2 Turn the scale over again and lift off the platform hood "B".
2. Replacing
2.1 DMS Electronic module "D" (page 3)
It is not necessary to remove the load cell to replace the DMS Electronic module.
Detach plug-in connections "S1" and "S2" from the DMS Electronic module and then release the
2 M5 oval head screws "L". Carefully take off the cover, slacken the 2 screws "P" and take out the
board.
Unsolder the cable connections "K1" and "K2" from the electronic module.
The electronic module can now be replaced.
2.2 Platform load cell "P" (page 3)
To replace the platform load cell unsolder the cable K1 to the DMS Electronic module as
described in section 2.1. Then slacken the 4 M6 cheese head screws "Z1". Slacken the 4 M4 hex
nuts "A". Carefully turn the scale over. Unscrew the 4 M6 cheese head screws "Z2" from the
platform support and remove the platform support. The load cell can now be replaced.
2.3 Replacing the cable harness for the mains plug "N" (page 3)
The cable harness can only be replaced when the column is removed.
Before replacing the cable harness for the mains plug, cable "K2" must be unsoldered from the
DMS Basic module and the 2 screws "SV" fixing the column connection element must be
released. Unscrew the 2 M2 cheese head screws "Z3" and replace the cable harness.
