This document describes the SENCOR SSM 3120WH Sandwich Maker, a household appliance designed for preparing sandwiches.
Function Description
The SENCOR SSM 3120WH is a sandwich maker primarily used for toasting two square sandwiches at a time. It features baking plates with a non-stick surface to prevent food from sticking and facilitate easy removal of sandwiches. The appliance operates by heating these plates to an optimal temperature, indicated by a green light, to toast the bread and warm the filling. It is designed for simple operation, with indicators for power connection and heating status.

Usage Features
Before First Use:
- Remove all packaging materials, promotional labels, and stickers.
- Wipe the baking plates (A6) with a lightly dampened cloth or sponge, then dry thoroughly.
- Run the appliance empty for 5 to 7 minutes to eliminate any potential odors. Light smoke may be emitted initially, which is normal and will dissipate.
Operating the Appliance:
- Connect the sandwich maker to a power socket. Both the red (A2) and green (A1) indicators will light up. The red light confirms power connection, and the green light indicates the baking plates are heating.
- For faster heating, coat the baking plates (A6) with a little butter or cooking oil and close the sandwich maker.
- Prepare sandwiches with two slices of bread and filling. Ensure the filling is placed precisely between the bread slices and avoid overfilling, which can prevent the appliance from closing properly and potentially damage it.
- Once the baking plates reach the operating temperature, the green indicator (A1) will turn off.
- Open the sandwich maker using the handle (A3) and place one or two sandwiches on the bottom baking plate.
- Close the sandwich maker and secure the handles (A3) with the latch (A4).
- Toast for approximately 3 to 5 minutes. The toasting time may vary based on bread type, ingredients, and desired crispness.
- To check or remove the sandwich, release the latch (A4) and use the handle (A3) to open the top plate. Use a wooden or heat-resistant spatula to remove sandwiches to avoid damaging the non-stick coating. Do not use metal utensils.
- Before toasting more sandwiches, close the sandwich maker and wait for the green indicator (A1) to turn off again, signaling it has reheated.
- After use, disconnect the power cord from the socket and allow the appliance to cool down before cleaning.
Sandwich Making Tips:
- Use various ingredients for fillings such as meat, fish, cheeses, smoked goods, boiled egg slices, mushrooms, fruits (bananas, apples, pineapples), or vegetables (tomatoes).
- Avoid excessive filling to prevent spillage onto the baking plates.
- Season fillings with spices, herbs, or ketchup to taste.
- For a golden-brown crust, spread a light layer of butter on the top side of the sandwich bread slice.
Maintenance Features
Cleaning and Maintenance:
- Always disconnect the sandwich maker from the power socket and allow it to cool down completely before cleaning.
- Clean the non-stick surface of the baking plates (A6) after each use to prevent food residue buildup. Use a lightly dampened, soft cloth.
- For stubborn burnt food residue, sprinkle water and mild kitchen detergent on the plates, then wipe with a clean damp cloth until thoroughly dry. Cleaning is easier when the plates are slightly warm.
- Wipe the outer surface of the sandwich maker with a lightly dampened cloth and then dry it.
- Do not wash the appliance under running water or submerge it in water or any other liquid.
- Do not use steel wool, abrasive cleaning products, or solvents, as these can damage the cleaned surface.
- If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by an authorized service center or similarly qualified person to prevent hazards. Do not use the appliance with a damaged power cord.
- To avoid electrical shock, do not attempt to repair or adjust the appliance yourself. All repairs must be performed by an authorized service center. Unauthorized tampering voids the warranty.
Storage:
- Once the baking plates (A6) are cold, close the top plate and secure the handles (A3) with the latch (A4).
- Wind the power cord into the storage space (A5) on the bottom of the sandwich maker.
- Store the sandwich maker in a clean, dry place, out of reach of children.
- Storing the sandwich maker in a vertical position can save kitchen space.
Disposal:
- Dispose of packaging materials at designated waste sites in your municipality.
- Used electrical and electronic products must not be disposed of with ordinary municipal waste. Hand over these appliances to designated collection points for proper disposal, renewal, and recycling. In the EU, appliances can be returned to local retailers when buying a new equivalent appliance.
- Correct disposal helps conserve natural resources and prevents negative environmental and health impacts. Consult local authorities or collection facilities for details.
- For business entities in EU states, contact your retailer or supplier for disposal information.
