the circuit powering the Airtext router upon completion of the harness checkout. Airtext connector can be
plugged in after completion of the continuity and power checks.
4. Ground checks: Enable power to Airtext when the aircraft placed outside of the hanger with a view of
the sky and out of the shadow of tall buildings. Open the Airtext app and send an Airtext text message to
your own or your co-workers phone. The message should be delivered within a minute or two. See
troubleshooting section below if it is not delivered. Respond to that message after receipt. Again the
message should be delivered back to the plane within a minute or two. Detailed instructions to load and
use the APP are contained in the next section of this document.
5. Checkout is considered complete when the text message makes the full round trip.
Bluetooth Texting Setup
When the Airtext router is powered on, it will immediately go into a mode to discover new users. It will
form a Dynamic Bluetooth LE bond with up to 16 simultaneous users. It will also form a Dynamic
Bluetooth LE bond with up to 64 users on a round-robin connect and release process. That list of bonded
devices is rebuilt with each new flight. Explicit or permanent Bluetooth Pairing the way that a hands-free
cell phone head set is not needed for Texting.
