PRV Coupling Installation
High pressure (VREL) coupling
1. Install the coupling half on the motor side rst.
a. Push the coupling as high on the at as possible and tighten the setscrew.
2. Install the coupling half and plastic spider on the VREL valve shaft.
3. Replace the top motor bracket and tighten the bracket screws:
a. Push the coupling as low on the shaft as possible without going past the at.
b. Lightly tighten the setscrew.
c. Pull up on the VREL valve shaft.
d. Loosen the setscrew and adjust the coupling so there is a slight gap between the
top and bottom of the coupling when pulling the VREL valve shaft up.
e. Tighten the setscrews and install / tighten the jam-nuts.
Low Pressure (Needle Valve) coupling
1. Install the bronze half of the coupling on the motor shaft with the face even with the
end of the shaft.
a. Tighten the setscrew and jam-nut.
2. Install the lower half of the coupling on the the needle valve. There is an indentation
on the shaft that should be lined up with the setscrew.
a. Tighten the setscrew and jam-nut.
b. Turn the valve counter-clockwise (Open) as far as it will go.
3. Replace the top motor bracket and tighten the bracket screws.
4. Verify that there is clearance between the coupling pins and the top bracket.
a. If the coupling is rubbing, remove some material from the guide pins.
