Do you have a question about the Shark VACMOP VM180 Series and is the answer not in the manual?

Overview

The Shark VACMOP Cordless Hard Floor System (VM180/VC200/VM190/VM200 Series) is a versatile cleaning appliance designed for hard floors, combining both vacuuming and mopping functionalities. It is intended for household use and operates on a rechargeable lithium-ion battery.

Function Description

The Shark VACMOP is engineered to provide a comprehensive hard floor cleaning experience. It features a unique disposable pad system that allows users to vacuum dry debris and wet mop simultaneously or separately. The vacuum function utilizes a dirt chamber within the disposable pad to collect and lock away dirt and debris. For wet mopping, the appliance dispenses a cleaning solution through a spray nozzle, and the disposable pad's fibers absorb messes. This dual functionality makes it suitable for quick pickups as well as more extensive cleaning sessions on various sealed hard floor surfaces, including stone, hardwood, vinyl, laminate, tile, marble, and linoleum.

Important Technical Specifications

  • Voltage: 10.8V
  • Watts: 85W
  • Battery Type: Lithium-ion rechargeable battery
  • Charging Time: Approximately 3.5 hours for a full charge
  • Battery Runtime: Up to 13 minutes of continuous vacuuming. Runtime will be longer for one-off everyday messes or for more mopping than vacuuming.
  • Cleaning Solution: Designed for use with Shark VACMOP Cleaner.
  • Pads: Uses Shark® branded Shark VACMOP disposable pads.

Usage Features

Assembly and Setup: The VACMOP comes partially assembled. Users need to align and insert the handle into the top of the pole until it clicks, and then align and insert the pole into the main body until it clicks. All components must be completely connected and clicked into place for proper operation.

Charging: Before first use, the unit must be fully charged. The DC charger plugs into an electrical outlet, and the charging connector plugs into the port on the back of the main body. An Indicator LED provides charging status: pulsing white for charging and solid white (turning off after 5 minutes) for a full charge.

Attaching and Removing Disposable Pads: To attach a pad, place the Shark VACMOP Disposable Pad on the floor with the dust chamber facing up. Align the front edge of the VACMOP base with the plastic bumper on the pad, then press the VACMOP base down until the pad clicks into place. To detach, press the release button on the side of the VACMOP base, allowing the dirty pad to be released directly into the trash.

Filling the Reservoir: The reservoir lid lifts and locks into an open position. Shark VACMOP Cleaner is poured into the reservoir up to the MAX line, and then the lid is pressed closed. For the first use, the entire starter bottle of cleaner should be added.

Controls:

  • Spray Button: Located on top of the handle, pressing and holding this button dispenses cleaning solution through the spray nozzle for mopping.
  • Vacuum Trigger: Pulling and holding this trigger activates the vacuum function.
  • Note: The spray button and vacuum trigger cannot be activated simultaneously.

Cleaning Modes: The VACMOP supports two primary cleaning modes:

  • Vacuum: Used to remove dry debris. The dirt chamber in the disposable pad collects and locks away particles.
  • Wet Mop: Used with Shark VACMOP Cleaner to absorb messes. The pad's fibers are designed for effective wet cleaning. For best results, it is recommended to vacuum dry debris first, then wet mop.

LED Battery Power and Charging Indicator: The indicator LED provides visual feedback on battery status:

  • In Use: Solid white for normal operation, blinking white for low battery, blinking red for very low battery, and rapid blinking red when out of battery.
  • Charging: Pulsing white for charging and solid white (turns off after 5 minutes) for a full charge.

Maintenance Features

Troubleshooting: The manual provides solutions for common issues such as:

  • No suction or light suction: Check for saturated disposable pad, insecurely attached pad, full pad, or low battery.
  • Unit turns off or sprayer not spraying: Ensure sufficient cleaning solution in the reservoir and check battery charge.
  • Streaks on floor after wet mopping: This can be due to the floor not being fully dry, built-up grime requiring multiple cleaning sessions, using too much solution, or a dirty disposable pad.
  • Scraping sounds when mopping: This may be caused by debris stuck on the pad, the pad rubbing against a rough surface, the dirt chamber brushing against an uneven floor, forceful scrubbing, or the base dragging when moving the handle while spraying.

Disposable Pad Replacement: Pads should be replaced when fully saturated, the dirt chamber is full, the pad is noticeably dirty, or if reduced suction power is observed.

Battery Recycling: The product uses a lithium-ion rechargeable and recyclable battery. When the battery no longer holds a charge, it should be removed from the VACMOP and recycled according to local ordinances and regulations. It is illegal in some areas to dispose of lithium-ion batteries in regular trash. Spent batteries should be returned to an authorized recycling center or retailer. The RBRC™ (Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corporation) seal on the battery indicates that recycling costs have been prepaid by SharkNinja.

Disassembly for Repacking/Shipping: While generally not recommended for regular maintenance, the unit can be disassembled for repacking or shipping. This involves pressing snap clips with a small tool to detach the handle from the pole and the pole from the main body.

Cleaning the Appliance: The body of the Shark VACMOP should not be immersed or sprayed with water. To clean the surface, wipe with a dry cloth.

Storage: After wet cleaning, the disposable pad should be removed. The unit can be stored upright, leaning against a wall, or hung from a nail or wall hook using the opening at the end of the handle.

The Shark VACMOP is designed for ease of use and maintenance, with a focus on disposable components for hygiene and convenience.
