5. EE12 Engine thermistor failure
Before starting the P.W.B. unit replacement, make sure to refer to “Before replacing the Printed Wiring Board” in page 2-3.

Measure the
thermistor (Engine)
resistance using a tester with the thermistor
connector pulled out of the control unit.
Are there disconnection, breakage and short circuit in the engine heater
connections (the engine terminals and control unit)?
Is the engine heater normal to meet the following requirements?
Insulation resistance: One (1) M or more at 500 VDC
Dielectric strength: 1000 V for one (1) minute
Leakage current: 0.3 mA or less
Resistance (in cold condition): 58.0 to 62.9
The monitored interlock switch is
in the door open position.
Is the engine thermal cut-out
normal?
Adjust the latch.
Replace the engine
thermal cut-outt
Is the connectors between the thermistor (Engine), and wire harness disconnected or short circuited?
Connect/repair the terminal(s) or replace the harness.
Replace the
thermistor (Engine)
.
Replace the engine unit.
Replace the control unit.
The thermistor (engine) resistance is within its appropriate range.
