Why is the Side-Power Outboard Motor thruster performance reduced?
    • E
      Elizabeth RobbinsAug 4, 2025
If the thruster's performance is reduced, check the propeller, gear house, and tunnel to ensure they are free from any growth, barnacles, or debris that may be blocking water flow. If needed, replace any damaged parts. Also, ensure all connections are tightened and properly adjusted.

What to do if the main solenoids in the Side-Power SR Outboard Motor thruster are not trying to engage (clicking)?
    • M
      Mallory ReedAug 10, 2025
If the main solenoids in the Side-Power Outboard Motor thruster are not engaging (clicking), try running the thruster without the control panel by directly connecting the red and blue or red and grey wires in the control cable contact end coming from the thruster. Repeat this process at the connector going into the back of the control panel. Also, measure the voltage between the Red and the Black cable at the contact point going into the thruster and ensure you have the correct voltage between the Red (+) and all the other colors in the contact.

If the Side-Power Outboard Motor thruster does not run at all, or only runs in one direction after performing the tests, check the internal wiring on the solenoid. Measure to ensure there is contact through the magnetizing spools on each side of the solenoid.

What to do if Side-Power Outboard Motor thruster runs for approximately 0,5 seconds every 10 seconds?
    • I
      ijohnsonAug 21, 2025
If the Side-Power Outboard Motor thruster runs for approximately 0.5 seconds every 10 seconds, the solenoid might be in a lock-in/auto-stop position. To resolve this, shut off the thruster's main switch, gently tap the motor to release the solenoid pin, then turn the main thruster switch back on and test again. If the solenoid remains locked, contact your dealer.

How to fix a Side-Power Outboard Motor that runs, but has no thrust?
    • E
      eric84Aug 28, 2025
If the Side-Power Outboard Motor runs, but there's no thrust, re-fasten any loose parts or replace them if necessary. If the issue persists, replace any worn or damaged components. In case of failure inside the gear house, replace the entire gear house, as repairing the internal gear and bearing system is not recommended.
