Activating a new connection
If you have configured a new VoIP connection, you must also activate it.
In the Connections list:
¤ Activate the relevant option in the Active column ( = activated).
Your phone will register itself with the VoIP provider using the relevant access data. Update
the Web page (e.g. by pressing F5). The Status registered column will appear if registration
was successful. You can now be reached on this VoIP phone number.
Selecting the VoIP provider and downloading the VoIP provider data
Profile files of the most important VoIP providers are available on the Siemens Internet
server for downloading. The address for the server is stored in your phone (page 142).
Navigation:
¤ Open the following Web page: Settings ¢ Telephony ¢ Connections.
¤ Click Edit next to the VoIP connection for which you wish to download the provider data.
¤ In the IP Connection area, click the Select VoIP Provider button.
This will display information on the download procedure.
The phone establishes a connection with the Siemens server on the Internet. The down-
load procedure has several steps:
¤ Click Next.
¤ From the list, select the country for which the list of VoIP providers is to be loaded.
¤ Click Next.
¤ Select a VoIP provider from the list. If your provider is not included in the list, select Other
Provider. You will then have to enter all the VoIP data manually (page 121).
¤ Click Finish.
The data for the provider selected will be loaded onto your phone.
Configuring the fixed line connection
You can assign a name to your fixed line connection. This name is used to display the con-
nection on the handset and the Web configurator interface, e.g. during allocation of send
and receive numbers (page 130), for the call display (page 30).
¤ Open the following Web page: Settings ¢ Telephony ¢ Connections.
¤ In the Fixed Line Connection area, click Edit.
¤ Enter your fixed line network number or the name of your choice (max. 16 characters)
for your fixed line connection in the Connection Name or Number field. The default is "Fixed
Line".
Please note:
Once the new entry has been made, the VoIP phone number is assigned to each handset and the inte-
grated answer machine (Gigaset C47 IP) is assigned as a receive number. For how to adjust the
assignment, see page 130.
