Preparing to use your phone
The pack contains:
◆ a base station Gigaset SL 100,
◆ a SL 1 handset,
◆ one power supply unit with power cord,
◆ two telephone cords, one telephone cord for use in New Zealand and one for use in
Australia,
◆ one belt clip for the handset,
◆ one rechargeable battery,
◆ one charger (incl. power supply unit),
◆ one set of operating instructions.
Installing the base station
Hints on installing
The base station is designed to be operated in enclosed, dry areas at temperatures rang-
ing from +5 °C to +45 °C. Install the base station at a central location in your home, e. g.
in the hall.
Range and signal strength
The base station has a range of approx. 300 m outdoors and up to 50 m indoors. The
signal strength display shows the quality of the radio contact between the base station
and the handset:

◆ IMPORTANT NOTICE: Under power failure conditions, this telephone
may not operate. Please ensure that a separate telephone, not
dependent on local power, is available for emergency use.
◆ WARNING: This equipment may not provide for the effective hand-
over of a call to another device connected to the same line.
