Preparing to use your phone
The pack contains:
a base station Gigaset SL 100,
a SL 1 handset,
one power supply unit with power cord,
two telephone cords, one telephone cord for use in New Zealand and one for use in
Australia,
one belt clip for the handset,
one rechargeable battery,
one charger (incl. power supply unit),
one set of operating instructions.
Installing the base station
Hints on installing
The base station is designed to be operated in enclosed, dry areas at temperatures rang-
ing from +5 °C to +45 °C. Install the base station at a central location in your home, e. g.
in the hall.
Range and signal strength
The base station has a range of approx. 300 m outdoors and up to 50 m indoors. The
signal strength display shows the quality of the radio contact between the base station
and the handset:

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Under power failure conditions, this telephone
may not operate. Please ensure that a separate telephone, not
dependent on local power, is available for emergency use.
WARNING: This equipment may not provide for the effective hand-
over of a call to another device connected to the same line.
