Setting the log storage

WARNING

Removing the USB key while the logging is enabled (without using the Safely
Remove command) may cause the unit to restart or block (a manual restart is then
needed).
Always use the Safely Remove command before removing the USB memory device!

Note: If you use the SD card as default log storage, removing an USB mass storage
device temporarily set as the active log storage doesn’t automatically set again the
SD card as the active log storage. In such a case, you need to manually set the SD
card as the active log storage.
Configuring the logging function on the fly
To configure the log files on the fly, do the following:
You need to be logged in as ‘admin’ (see Launching NW8204 from DMS host [➙
66] about different user types).
1. Click the Protocol Info button.
2. In the NK Protocols window, select the protocol about which you want to configure
the logging function.
3. Select the check boxes you are interested in:
- The Logger Category section shows the available information categories.
- The Logger Mask section shows the information types that will be written in the
log files about every information category.
4. Click the Apply button.
The logging function configuration is modified on the fly.
