Connecting the power supply
For the 24 V DC power supply of IFP devices, use only power supply units with safe electrical isolation in accordance with
IEC 61010-2-201 or IEC 60950-1 in accordance with the SELV/PELV standard.
For the 24 V DC supply of ITC devices, use only power supply units with safe electrical isolation in accordance with IEC
60364-4-41 or HD 384.04.41 (VDE 0100, Part 410), e.g. in accordance with the SELV/PELV standard.
The supply voltage must be within the specified voltage range.
Applies to non-isolated system configurations: Connect the terminal for GND 24 V from the 24 V power supply output to
An external protective circuit is required for operation with 24 V DC, see section 7 "Lightning protection and overvoltage
protection" in the Function Manual "Designing interference-free controllers
Ferrites in IFP devices
The two power supply cables require a ferrite. Each power supply cable must be routed twice through the ferrite. The
distance between the ferrite and the power supply connector must not exceed 200 mm.
In extended mode, two ferrites are required at the ends of the Ethernet cable.
Procedure
Inadequate or non-existent ground connection will cause malfunction of the capacitive touch screen. This can result in
bodily injury or property damage.
Always connect the device to a protective conductor. The protective conductor must be connected directly to ground with
1. Connect a protective conductor with a minimum cross section of 2.5 mm

to the protective conductor connection of the
device.
2. Connect the protective conductor to the earthing connection of the control cabinet in which the device is installed.
3. Connect the DC power supply and all other data cables.
Observe the description in the associated standard documentation.
When connecting the power supply, note the polarity of the cables:
