3. Create a new drive or make the assignment to an existing drive.

The following setting options are available for the drive assignment:
● Assign drive
Assigning a previously configured drive
● Define assignment later
The axis is to be assigned to a drive at a later point in time.
This means that
– a programmer can use technology objects (TO axis, for example) to make all the
necessary configuration settings for the PLC and motion control functions and load
them to the device; drive know-how is not required
– The drives to be separately configured and optimized by a drive expert and
– The technology objects to be symbolically assigned later to the drive objects via an
interconnection dialog box
