HomeConnect has been set up and
whether the appliance is connected
to your home network.
Remote start
You can use the HomeConnect app
to start the appliance with your mo-
bile device.
Tip:If you select remote start
→Page33 "rc2" with the basic set-
ting, the remote start function will be
permanently activated and you can
start your appliance with a mobile
device at any time.
Activating remote start
If you have set remote start "rc1" with
the basic setting, you can activate
the remote start function on your ap-
pliance.
Requirements
¡ The appliance is connected to your
WLAN home network.
¡ The device is connected to the
HomeConnect app.
¡ With the basic setting remote start
→Page33, "rc1" is selected.
¡ A programme is selected.

If you open the appliance door, re-
mote start is automatically deactiv-
ated.

Remote Diagnostics
Customer Service can use Remote
Diagnostics to access your appliance
if you contact them, have your appli-
ance connected to the HomeCon-
nect server and if Remote Dia-
gnostics is available in the country in
which you are using the appliance.

Software update
You can use this function to update
the software of your appliance, e.g.
for optimisation, troubleshooting or
safety-relevant updating.
The HomeConnect app informs you
about available software updates.
Data protection
Please see the information on data
protection.
The first time your appliance is
registered on a home network
connected to the Internet, your
appliance will transmit the following
types of data to the HomeConnect
server (initial registration):
¡ Unique appliance identification
(consisting of appliance codes as
well as the MAC address of the
Wi-Fi communication module in-
stalled).
¡ Security certificate of the Wi-Fi
communication module (to ensure
a secure data connection).
¡ The current software and hardware
version of your appliance.
¡ Status of any previous reset to
factory settings.
This initial registration prepares the
HomeConnect functions for use and
is only required when you want to
use the HomeConnect functions for
the first time.
