Overview

The MSA3 Air Purifier, manufactured by Membrane Solutions, is designed to provide clean and healthy air for indoor environments, such as homes or offices. This durable piece of equipment is built for longevity, with proper care ensuring many years of service.

Function Description

The primary function of the MSA3 Air Purifier is to filter out impurities and particles from the air. It employs a quadruple filtration system to achieve this, which includes a Primary filter, an H11 High-Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filter, and an Activated Carbon filter. This comprehensive filtration system is capable of capturing over 99.97% of particles with a diameter greater than or equal to 0.3 microns. The device is effective against a wide range of airborne contaminants, including viruses, mold, dust, allergens, pollen, bacteria, dust mites, cigarette smoke, pet dander, off-odors, and unhealthy vapors, thereby improving indoor air quality.

Usage Features

The MSA3 Air Purifier is designed for straightforward operation with a user-friendly control panel.

  • Power On/Off: The device is turned on by pressing the Power button once, entering operating mode. A second press of the Power button stops the air purifier and places it into standby mode.
  • Fan Speed Control: Users can cycle through different fan speed settings by repeatedly pressing the Fan button. The available settings include Sleep (low speed), Medium speed (indicated by '2'), and High Speed (indicated by '3'). A corresponding fan speed indicator light on the control panel displays the currently selected speed.
  • Sleep Mode: Activating Sleep mode via the dedicated button sets the fan to its lowest and quietest setting. In this mode, only the Sleep and Power buttons remain illuminated, helping to keep the room dark and undisturbed.
  • Timer Function: The timer button allows users to set an automatic shut-off feature. The unit can be programmed to run for durations between 1 and 8 hours. Repeatedly pressing the timer button cycles through the preselected times, with the number of illuminated indicator lights representing the chosen duration.
  • Light Control: A dedicated light button allows users to turn off all the unit's lights. Only the light button itself remains illuminated for easy identification in the dark.
  • Turbo Mode: Pressing the Turbo button sets the unit to its highest fan setting, indicated by the illumination of the Turbo indicator light, for rapid air purification.
  • Child Lock: To prevent accidental changes to settings, the system features a lock function. Pressing and holding the lock button for 3 seconds illuminates the lock display, indicating that the system is locked. To unlock, the lock button must be pressed and held again until the indicator light turns off.

Maintenance Features

Regular maintenance is crucial for the optimal performance and longevity of the MSA3 Air Purifier, particularly concerning its filtration system.

  • Filter Replacement Indication: The air purifier is equipped with a filter timer function. After approximately 2000 hours of total run time, an indicator light will flash to signal that the composite filter needs to be replaced.
  • Filter Replacement Procedure:
    1. Before replacing the filter, the air purifier must be turned off, and the power cord unplugged from the electrical outlet.
    2. The rear cover of the unit is then removed to access the exhausted composite filter element, which should be carefully taken out.
    3. Any remaining dust, dirt, or lint inside the purifier should be cleaned using a vacuum hose or a dry cloth. It is important not to use water or any liquids for cleaning the purifier's interior.
    4. A new filter element should be unpacked, noting the inward and outward sides to ensure correct installation. Airflow travels from the outside to the center of the unit.
    5. The new filter is placed into the air purifier, ensuring it faces the correct direction.
    6. After the new filter is installed, the rear cover is reinstalled.
    7. Finally, the power cord is plugged back into an electrical outlet. To reset the filter timer, the filter button must be pressed and held for 3 seconds. The indicator light will flash three times and then turn off, confirming a successful reset.
  • Filter Lifespan: The actual lifespan of the filter can vary significantly based on environmental factors such as the amount of dust, smoke, humidity, and the concentration of other airborne particles and vapors present in the air.
  • Cleaning the Device: Regular cleaning of the device and removal of dust from the power plug are recommended. The unit should be unplugged before cleaning. Strong corrosive detergents or chemicals should not be used, as they may damage the device's surface.
  • Filter Care: The composite filter is designed for single use and should not be washed or reused. It must be replaced with a new filter when exhausted.
  • Airflow Maintenance: It is important to ensure that the air inlets or outlets on the device are not obstructed to maintain efficient operation.
