INSPECTION / CHECKS
1. General
These procedures also apply to new components.
A. All Components
Examine, as applicable, for:
(1) Clean condition of components.
(2) Shape.
(3) Cracks.
(4) Corrosion.
(5) Surface finish.
(6) Wear.
B. Electrical Components
Examine for:
(1) Deterioration of wiring and insulation.
(2) Security of all soldered connections.

3. Detailed Procedure
A. Compass Bowl. (180)
(1) Examine carefully for cracks, shape, damaged screw threads and other
indications of deterioration.
(2) Examine for optical clarity through the front window and below the bowl,
where the light from the lamp shows through.
(3) If unserviceable, replace the bowl.
