WARNING:
Engine should
be
operated only when belt guard
is
properly secured.
1.
Open hood.
2.
Pull
out both belt guard retaining
pins.
3.
Lift and remove the belt guard.

WARNING:
Never start
or
run
engine without the drive belt in-
stalled. Running
an
unloaded engine
is
dangerous.
1.
Remove ignition
key.
2.
Open hood and remove belt guard.

NOTE : Removal and installation
of drive belt
is
easier when driven
pulley
is
held with brake
so
that it can
not rotate. Starter rope,
in
tool kit, may
be
tight-tied around brake lever at han-
dlebar for this purpose.
3.
Open the driven pulley
by
twisting
and pushing the sliding half. Hold
in
fully open position.

4. Slip the belt over the top edge of the
fixed half,
as
shown.

5.
Slip the belt
out
from the drive pul-
ley and remove from the vehicle.

install the drive belt, reverse the pro-
