C. CHECK MOWER DRIVE BELT
The mower drive belt cover is a two piece cover.
Remove as follows.
1. R ight Drive Beit Cover Removai
(a) Remove two self-tapping screws at blade
lever and one self-tapping screw at deck lift
lever.
(b) Remove two retaining nuts from deck studs.
(c) Lift belt cover up to clear studs and then
remove. See Figure 3.3.
2. L eft Drive Beit Cover Removai
(a) Remove one self-tapping screw located
close to blade pedals.
(b) Remove two nuts from deck studs.
(c) Lift belt cover up to clear studs and then
remove. See Figure 3.4.
3. C hecking Beit Tension
(a) Move blade lever up and over to the "ON"
position and depress blade pedals. See
Figure 3.5.
(b) Measure the distance between belt at idler
pulleys. See Figure 3.6. The distance be¬
tween belt should be 1-1/4" but no less
than 1".

(c) If the measurement is less than 1" the belt
tension should be adjusted. See 4.2, A.

3.3 AFTER EVERY 25 OPERATING HOURS
A. ENGINE
1. Engine Oil
Change engine oil. Refer to 3.2, A. CHANGE
ENGINE OIL.
2. Oil Filter
Remove and replace oil filter. Refer to engine
owner's manual for service instructions.
