Push
clutch/brake
pedal
all
the
way
down
and
apply
the
park
brake
by
lifting
the
park
brake
lever
to
the
"ON"
position.
While
holding
park
brake
lever
"ON"
release
clutch/brake
pedal
to
set
park
brake.
Refer

2.7.

Move
the
transmission
shift
lever
to
the
neutral
(N)
position.

Open
vent
on
fuel
filler
cap.

NOTE
Failure
to
open
vent
on
the
fuel
filler
cap
or
turn
will
cause
engine
to
stall.
5.
Move
engine
speed
control
to
the
choke
position
to
start
a
cold
engine.

Turn
key
to
the
"START"
position
until
engine
starts.

NOTE
If
after
5
seconds
of
cranking
the
engine
does
not
start,
release
the
key
and
attempt
starting
again
after
30
seconds.

After
engine
starts,
allow
a
brief
warmup
until
engine
runs
smooth.
8.
Should
the
battery
be
too
weak
to
start
the
engine,
use
the
following
instructions
to
manually
start
the
9hp,
lOhp,
12hp,13hp,
and
14hp
engines.
Units
with
8hp
engines
will
require
charging
of
the
battery.
