MAINTENANCE
INSTRUCTIONS
HYDROSTATIC
TRANSMISSION
OIL
The
hydrostic
transmission
does
not
normally
require
maintainence,
however,
proper
oil
level
should
be
verified
sfter
every
season.
TO
CHECK
OIL
LEVEL
IN
TRANSMISSION
Remove
seat
by
removing
seat
adjustment
knobs.
See
Figure
18.
Lay
seat
forward.
Be
careful
not
to
pull
seat
switch
wires
from
the
switch.
Disconnect
negative
(black)
battery
wire
from
terminal
first!

Figure

Disconnect
positive
(red)
battery
wire
from
terminal
last!
Remove
battery
and
battery
tray.
Transmission
is
now
accessible.
Clean
any
debris
off
of
oil
cap
and
top
cover
before
removiing
fill
cap.

Before
attempting
any
adjustments
or
repairs,
STOP
the
engine,
remove
the
key,
remove
the
spark
plug
wire(s)
from
the
spark
plug(s)
and
secure
wire(s)
away
from
plug(s).
Visually
check
oil
level.
Oil
level
should
be
approximately
3/4"
(±1/4")
from
top
of
case.
If
the
level
is
lower
than
3/4",
add
10W
30
motor
oil
to
bring
the
level
up
as
required.
Replace
fill
cap.
Reinstall
battery
tray.
Reinstall
battery.
