Lubrication
Lubricatethe unit at the locations shown in Figures 20
through 23 as well asthe following lubrication points.
Grease:
i * front caster wheel axles & yokes
• deck lift pivot blocks
• mower deck spindles
• mower deck idler arm
Use greasefittings when present. Disassembleparts to
apply greaseto moving parts when greasefittings are not
installed.
Not all greases are compatible. RedGrease(p/n 5022285)
is recommended,automotive-type high-temperature, lithium
greasemay be used when this is not available.

* discharge chute hinge
Generally,all moving metal parts should be oiled where
contact is madewith other parts. Keepoil and greaseoff
belts and pulleys. Rememberto wipe fittings and surfaces
cleanboth before and after lubrication.
Lubricatingthe FrontCasters:
NOTE.Front casters should be lubricated annually.
1. Removethe 1/4-28 bolt (A, Figure23) screwed into the
front caster and installa 1/4-28 greasefitting.
2. Greasethe front caster.
3. Removethe 1/4-28 grease fitting and reinstall the 1/4-28
bolt.
4. Repeatprocess for the other side of the machine.
