Function Description:

The Sun Joe Electric Pressure Washer is designed for residential use, intended for medium-to-heavy duty cleaning tasks. It effectively cleans various surfaces and items such as boats, motorcycles, RVs, ATVs, trailers, decks, barbecues, siding, and patio furniture. The machine operates by pumping cold water at high pressure through a spray wand and various nozzles, allowing for effective dirt removal, especially when combined with recommended cleaning agents. It features a Total Stop System (TSS) which senses water flow and automatically turns off the motor when the trigger is released, protecting the pump from overheating and prolonging its life.

Usage Features:

The pressure washer is equipped with several features to enhance usability and safety:

  • Quick-Connect Nozzles: Five different Quick-Connect nozzles are included (0°, 15°, 25°, 40°, and Soap) for various spray patterns and cleaning tasks. The 0° (orange) nozzle provides an intense, pencil-point jet for heavy dirt and hard-to-reach areas. The 15° (yellow) nozzle is for intense cleaning on hard surfaces like stripping paint or removing oil stains. The 25° (green) nozzle is for all-purpose cleaning on home siding, decks, and driveways. The 40° (gray) nozzle offers a wide spray for cars, trucks, boats, and patio furniture. The Soap (black) nozzle is specifically for low-pressure detergent application.
  • Detergent Tank: An integrated 1-gallon detergent tank allows for easy application of cleaning solutions. A detergent dial adjusts the suction volume of the detergent solution.
  • Hose Reel: A built-in hose reel with a hand crank simplifies storage and management of the high-pressure hose.
  • On-board Storage: The unit includes on-board storage for nozzles and the trigger gun, keeping accessories organized and readily accessible.
  • Trigger Gun with Safety Lock: The spray gun features a locking device to prevent unintentional operation, enhancing user safety.
  • GFCI Protection: The power cord plug is equipped with a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) for additional protection against electric shock.
  • Thermal Sensor: A thermal sensor protects the motor from overloading, automatically cutting off power if the motor becomes too hot.
  • Water Supply Connection: The unit connects to a standard garden hose, which must be reinforced and have an internal diameter of at least 13 mm (1/2 in.). It is designed for cold water use only and not suitable for connection to potable water mains.
  • Mobility: Equipped with two wheels and a handle frame, the pressure washer is designed for easy movement and stable operation on flat surfaces.

Maintenance Features:

Regular maintenance is crucial for the longevity and optimal performance of the pressure washer:

  • Adapter Filter Cleaning: The adapter filter should be checked and cleaned regularly by rinsing with warm water to prevent foreign matter from clogging the pump.
  • Nozzle Clean-out Tool: A needle clean-out tool is provided to remove any dirt or blockages from the nozzle hole.
  • Winterizing + Long-term Storage: For storage in temperatures below 32°F (0°C), specific steps must be followed to prevent freeze damage, which is not covered by the warranty. This includes disconnecting all water connections, running the washer for a few seconds to expel remaining water, and operating it with non-corrosive/non-toxic anti-freeze or a pump protector. The unit should be stored indoors in a dry, frost-free area.
  • Electrical Cord Inspection: Regular inspection of the power cord for damage or wear and tear is recommended. Any damaged cords should be replaced by identical parts.
  • Hose Inspection: High-pressure hoses should be examined regularly for damage and replaced if necessary, as bursting hoses can cause injury.
  • Detergent System Cleaning: After detergent application, clean water should be run through the detergent tube to remove any remaining detergent, preventing clogging of the injection system.

The manual emphasizes the importance of reading all instructions before use, adhering to safety warnings, and using only manufacturer-recommended replacement parts and accessories to ensure safe and effective operation. It also provides troubleshooting tips and contact information for customer service.
