This document is a user manual for Soleus Air Portable Dehumidifiers, covering models DS1-30-01 (30 Pint), DS1-45E-101 (45 Pint), and DS1-70E-101 (70 Pint).
Function Description
The Soleus Air Portable Dehumidifier is designed to remove excess moisture from the air, helping to create a more comfortable and healthy indoor environment. It operates by drawing in humid air, passing it over a cold coil to condense the moisture, and then expelling drier air. The collected water is stored in an internal bucket, which needs to be emptied periodically, or can be continuously drained using a garden hose. The device is suitable for various locations, including basements, bathrooms, laundry rooms, and closets, provided there is adequate air circulation.

Maintenance Features
- Clean or Replace Filter: The Clean Filter indicator illuminates every 250 hours of operation as a reminder to clean the filter. A clean filter ensures optimum performance. To clean, remove the filter from the back of the unit, wash it with warm, soapy water, rinse thoroughly, dry before replacing, and press the FILTER button to reset the indicator. The filter should not be cleaned in a dishwasher.
- Clean the Unit Housing: Keep the unit from being exposed directly to the sun to prevent color fading. Clean the surface with a damp cloth and dry it with a soft towel.
- End of Season Storage/Transporting the Unit:
- Turn off the dehumidifier.
- Unplug the unit and secure the power cord to the back of the unit.
- Clean or replace the filter.
- Empty any water remaining in the bucket and rinse the bucket with a mild detergent.
- Insert the empty water bucket back into the dehumidifier.
- Ensure the dehumidifier is now ready for storage or transportation.
- Store the unit in a cool, dry place.
- Automatic Defrost: When frost builds up on the evaporator coils, the compressor will cycle off and the fan will continue to run until the frost disappears. The coils are completely defrosted, and the compressor will automatically restart.
- Troubleshooting Guide: The manual includes a comprehensive troubleshooting section to help users diagnose and resolve common issues such as the dehumidifier not starting, not drying the air, running too much, frost appearing on coils, controls not being set, and fan noise.
- Self-Diagnosing Codes: The unit displays specific error codes (E1 for Compressor Overheat Protection, E2 for Condenser Overheat Protection, EH for Humidity Sensor Malfunction) to help identify problems, with instructions to contact customer service if these codes appear.
Important Notes:
- Dehumidifier must be upright for 24 hours prior to operating. This ensures that the compressor will function as intended.
- When the bucket is full or removed, the compressor will turn off, but the fan may continue to run for a few minutes.
- When removing moisture from the air, the dehumidifier will exhaust warm air from the side exhaust vent. Do not place a full bucket on the floor because the bottom of the bucket is uneven.
- The dehumidifier is intended for indoor use only.
- Allow at least 18" of air flow on all sides.
- Do not use the dehumidifier in areas where excessive moisture, such as entryways, bathrooms, basements, and laundry rooms, could damage any hooks or valuables.
- The dehumidifier must be placed on a smooth, level floor surface that is strong enough to support the unit with a full bucket of water.
- The dehumidifier must not be operated in an enclosed area to be most effective.
- Close all doors, windows, and other outside openings to the room.
- Make sure power is off and the power cord is not plugged into an electrical outlet prior to performing any maintenance on the unit.
- While in Pump Mode, if the unit is turned off, the pump will remove all remaining water from the internal tank prior to the unit completely powering down. The pump indicator light will stay on during this period. Do not unplug the power cord until pump indicator light is off.
