HOT WATER FUNCTION MANUALLY ADJUSTING
THE BREWING TEMPERA-
TURE
Should you require hot water to dilute the
espresso, make tea, hot drinks or soups or warm
cups, portafilter or filter basket, you can turn the
dial to the position.
First, place the cup (or the portafilter resp. the
filter basket) under the hot water outlet. The
white control light HOT WATER/STEAM will
begin to flash to indicate that the machine is
heating up to generate hot water.
Once the control light permanently illuminates,
the hot water function is ready. Water will flow
out of the hot water outlet. If you want to stop
the hot water flow, return the dial to the standby
position in the middle.
You can manually reduce or increase the water
temperature for brewing coffee by 1 °C or 2 °C.
Depending on their origin or their roast, coffee
beans might require different brewing tempera-
tures to unfold their optimal aroma. Should your
espresso taste slightly „ashy“, you can reduce
the brewing temperature by 1 °C, should your
espresso seem slightly „sour“, you can increase
the brewing temperature by 1 °C.
How to change brewing temperature:
If your appliance is deactivated and in OFF-
mode, press and hold the PROGRAM button.
Then, simultaneously press and hold the
POWER button.
A single, acoustic signal will sound to indicate
that the temperature setting can now be
changed.
