Overview

This document is a user manual for Sôlt Integrated Rangehoods, specifically models GGSRIH600W and GGSRIH900W. It provides comprehensive information on the rangehood's function, technical specifications, usage, installation, and maintenance.

Function Description

The Sôlt Integrated Rangehood is a domestic appliance designed for extracting cooking fumes, smoke, and steam from kitchens. It operates in either ducted or recirculation mode, with the primary goal of maintaining good air quality in the cooking area. The rangehood features a control panel for adjusting fan speed and lighting, and it utilizes aluminium grease filters to capture grease particles. Carbon filters are available as an optional accessory for recirculation mode to remove odours. The appliance is intended for household use and similar environments, such as farmhouses, serviced apartments, and holiday apartments.

Important Technical Specifications

The manual details the technical specifications for both models:

  • Models: GGSRIH600W and GGSRIH900W
  • Finish: White Enamel Finish for both models.
  • Extraction: Both models offer an extraction rate of 1000m³/hr.
  • Speed Settings: Both models have 3 speed settings: Low, Medium, and High.
  • Aluminium Filter: GGSRIH600W includes 2 aluminium grease filters, while GGSRIH900W includes 3.
  • Carbon Filters: These are an optional accessory for both models, available for purchase.
  • Lighting: Both models are equipped with 2 x 0.5W LED lights.
  • Max. Noise Rating: Both models have a maximum noise rating of 70 dB(A).

    • GGSRIH900W: 895 × 310 × 500mm
  • Cut-Out Dimensions (W x D x H):
    • GGSRIH600W: 565 × 310-340 × min. 500mm
    • GGSRIH900W: 867 × 310-340 × min. 500mm
  • Product Weight:
    • GGSRIH600W: 11.01kg
    • GGSRIH900W: 12.33kg

The rangehood is designed to use Ø 150mm ducting for optimal airflow and minimal noise. The recommended minimum height from the cooktop surface is 650mm, and the maximum is 850mm (or greater if specified by the cooktop's installation instructions). Safe operation requires that the negative pressure in the room does not exceed 4 Pa (0.04 mbar) when the rangehood and other non-electric appliances are in simultaneous operation.

Usage Features

The rangehood features a straightforward control panel with five buttons:

  • Light: Turns the LED lights on and off. Users are cautioned not to touch the lights for 30 minutes after use as they can be hot, and not to cover them with thermal insulation.
  • Low Speed: Sets extraction at the lowest speed, suitable for simmering or cooking with minimal steam.
  • Medium Speed: Sets extraction at a medium speed, suitable for regular cooking.
  • High Speed: Sets extraction at the highest speed, recommended for heavy smoke or steam to achieve maximum exhaust efficiency.
  • Power Off: Turns the rangehood fan off.

The manual emphasizes several safety precautions during operation, including not operating more than 4 cooktop burners simultaneously, never flambéing under the rangehood, and ensuring adequate room ventilation when used with gas or other fuel-burning appliances. It also advises covering lit gas burners with pots or pans when the rangehood is in use and never leaving lit gas burners unattended.

Maintenance Features

Regular cleaning and maintenance are crucial for the rangehood's optimal performance and longevity.

  • Exterior Surface: Clean weekly with a soft cloth lightly dampened in lukewarm water and a compatible cleaning solution. Avoid abrasive wipes, chemicals, or alcohol to prevent damage.
  • Controls: Clean weekly with a clean, soft cloth and a cotton swab, using a compatible cleaning solution with care.
  • Grease Filters: Clean monthly. Filters can be soaked in warm water (max 30°C) with a mild, non-corrosive grease-removing detergent, or placed in a dishwasher with a mild detergent (program not exceeding 30°C). They should be washed separately from other crockery and utensils. Filters should be brushed gently and allowed to air dry naturally. Fading and discolouration over time are normal and not covered by warranty.
  • Carbon Filters (Optional): If installed, carbon filters should be replaced every 2 to 3 months. They should not be cleaned or washed. To replace, disconnect power, remove grease filters, slot in the new carbon filter by turning it clockwise, then replace grease filters and reconnect power. Note that carbon filters may lower extraction power.
  • Light Bulb Replacement: Contact the After Sales Support Team to arrange for a qualified electrician or authorised service agent to replace the globes. Always allow the globe to cool before replacement.

The manual also includes troubleshooting tips for minor faults, such as lights on but motor off, both light and motor not working, insufficient suction, vibration, oil leakage, and inclining rangehood. For serious faults, users are advised to immediately disconnect the rangehood from the electricity supply and contact After Sales Support. It is crucial not to attempt repairs on electrical or electronic parts to avoid damage or electric shock.
