The Solt GGSUM52 is a 52cm undermount rangehood designed to extract or recirculate air in a kitchen environment. It is distributed within Australia by Residentia Group Pty Ltd.
Function Description:
The primary function of the GGSUM52 rangehood is to remove cooking fumes, steam, and odors from the kitchen. It offers both air extraction (venting air outside) and air recirculation (filtering and returning air to the kitchen) options, allowing users to choose the most suitable method for their kitchen setup. The rangehood features a 3-speed push-button control system, enabling users to adjust the fan speed according to their cooking needs. It is equipped with LED lamps to illuminate the cooking area, enhancing visibility. The appliance is designed for home use and is not suitable for barbecues or commercial purposes.

- High/Mid/Low: Adjusts the fan speed for different levels of extraction or recirculation, depending on the intensity of cooking fumes.
- Stop: Turns off the rangehood fan.
For installation, users must decide between air extraction or recirculation. Air extraction involves ducting the air outside, while air recirculation uses charcoal filters to purify the air before returning it to the kitchen. The manual provides diagrams to guide this decision and the subsequent installation process. Installation requires fastening the hood into a cabinet using screws and connecting the electrical wires. An air outlet pipe is optional for ducted installations.
Maintenance Features:
Regular maintenance is crucial for the rangehood's optimum performance and safety.
- Grease Filter Cleaning: The aluminium grease filter should be cleaned monthly. It can be removed by pressing a lock catch and is dishwasher-safe (at a temperature setting below 60°C) using non-corrosive detergent. Abrasive detergents should be avoided as they can damage the rangehood.
- Charcoal Filter Replacement (for recirculation mode): If using the recirculation option, saturated Activated Charcoal Filters (optional) need to be removed and replaced with new ones. This process involves removing the aluminium grease filter first.
- General Cleaning: The main body of the cooker hood should be cleaned with hot water and non-corrosive detergent every two months to prevent the accumulation of dirt and corrosion.
- Lamp Replacement: To replace a lamp, the aluminium grease filter must be removed. The lamp can then be pushed out from the inside, its wires disconnected, and a new lamp connected and fixed into place from the outside.
- Safety Precautions: Before any maintenance or cleaning, the power supply to the rangehood must be cut off. It is important not to flambé under the rangehood and to ensure adequate ventilation in the room when the rangehood is used simultaneously with other gas-burning appliances. The exhaust air must not be discharged into a flue used for other appliances.
The manual also includes a troubleshooting guide for common issues such as oil leakage, vibration, insufficient suction, and motor/light malfunctions, providing solutions or advising to contact the Residentia Group Support Team.
