AND
SERVICING
PROCEDURES
WARNING
Make
sure
that
the
HP-210’s
power
cord
is
disconnected
from
the
ac
outlet
before
performing
any
of
these
procedures.
LINE-FREQUENCY
CHANGE
The
turntable
can
be
adapted
to
operate
at
the
alternate
power-line
frequency
by
changing
the
motor
pulley.
Refer
to
the
list
below
to
determine
the
part
number
of
the
proper
pulley.
Note:
Only
the
General
Export
Model,
which
has
a
four-pole
drive
motor
with
two
field
coils,
can
be
adapted
according
to
this
procedure,
otherwise
replace
the
complete
motor
assembly.

Remove
the
record
changer
as
described
in
Procedure
2-4.
Pull
off
the
manual-play
or
aut
omatic-play
spindle
from
the
turntable
shaft.

Pry
the
nylon
cover
and
ornamental
disc
off
the
platter
with
a
small
screwdriver.
Remove
the
platter
by
prying
out
the
retaining
ring
around
the
shaft
with
a
small
screwdriver,
as
shown
in
Fig.
4-1.
Pull
off the
motor
pulley
while
loosening
the
spring
with
long-nose
pliers.
If
it
is
difficult
to
loosen
the
spring,
take
out
the
motor
assembly
by
removing
the
three
retaining
tings
and
disconnecting
the
motorleads,
then
perform
the
motor-pulley
removal.
6.
Install
the
proper
pulley
and
reassemble
the
changer.

LINE-VOLTAGE
CHANGE
The
general
export
model
of
the
HP-210
can
be
adapted
to
operate
at
several
different
power-line
voltages.
The
line-voltage
change
for
the
receiver
is
performed
by
removing
and
then
appropriately
'
plugging
in
the
voltage
selector,
For
the
changer,
,
the
voltage
change
is
made
as
follows:
i.
Remove
the
record
changer
as
described
in
Procedure
2-4.
2.
Turn
the
changer
‘upside
down.
3.
Remove
the
yellow
caps,
where
the
lead
wires
are
connected,
by
turning
them
counter-
clockwise.
4.
Change
the
wiring
to
match
the
line-voltage
as
shown
in
Fig.
4-2.

to
120
volts
