IV. Installation Steps
Use the link above to find instructions on how to properly install the Sony Device. After installation is successful, follow the steps
below to integrate the Sony STR-DA5600ES in Design Center and setup the Equinox products. If the controller will be communicating
with the Sony STR-DA5600ES by way of an Ethernet connection, then be sure to take note of the device’s IP address while setting it
up because you will need it to properly setup the Design Center file.
V. Design Center Example Setup
1. Project Settings – Click
on Settings | Project
Information| Owner
(tab). Fill out the
Equinox Mobile
Passcode:
(alpha/numeric) and the
Equinox Admin PIN:
(numeric).
2. Add Sony STR-
DA5600ES – In the
Object Explorer, select
Drivers, find the Sony
STR-DA5600ES and drag
or double click Sony
STR-DA5600ES to add it
to the project.
TIP: Objects are added
to the room currently
selected when double
clicking.
3. Name the Sony STR-
DA5600ES – In the
ObjectEditor, name the
Sony STR-DA5600ES and
give it a short, user-
friendly display name.
4. Configure the Sony STR-DA5600ES
a. In the parent driver in the Object Editor (the
item that is at the very top) assign the Port to
either a serial connection (RS-232) or to a TCP
Client Port.
b. If a TCP Client Port was assigned in the previous
step then, in the Object Editor for the controller,
it needs to be configured with 1) the device’s IP
Address, 2) the Port set to 2001(automatic), and
3) the parent item selected in the Data, Write,
Connect, and Disconnect areas.
5. Configure the Sony’s Zones and Sources – After
determining which zones and sources will NOT be used,
then find those items in the Object Editor and check the
