If your Sony Stereo Receiver remote isn't working, ensure you're pointing it at the remote sensor on the receiver and that there are no obstacles in the way. Verify the remote's mode matches the receiver's. If the batteries are weak, replace them. Also, make sure you've selected the correct function on the remote. Note that the AUX, SOURCE, MPX/DUAL, 12 and ON SCREEN buttons on the remote are not available. Press MAIN MENU on the remote before you use the V/v/B/b buttons for receiver operation.

How to improve FM reception on my Sony Stereo Receiver?
    • M
      Melissa HernandezAug 26, 2025
If the FM reception on your Sony Stereo Receiver is poor, try connecting the receiver to an outdoor FM antenna using a 75-ohm coaxial cable (not supplied). Ensure the outdoor antenna is grounded against lightning, but do not connect the ground wire to a gas pipe to prevent gas explosion. If the signal strength of the stations is too weak, use direct tuning. Make sure you set the tuning interval correctly (when tuning in AM stations with direct tuning). Preset the stations if no stations have been preset or the preset stations have been cleared. Press DISPLAY so that the frequency appears in the display.
