ADJUSTMENTS
3-1. MECHANICAL ADJUSTMENTS
PRECAUTION
1.
Clean
the
following
parts
with
a
denaturedalcohol-
moistened
swab:
playback
head
rubber
belts
capstan

idlers
pinch
roller
2. Demagnetize the playback head with a head demagne-
tizer. : | |
3. Do not use a magnetized screwdriver for the ad-
justments. 7 :
4. After the adjustments, apply suitable locking compound
to the parts adjusted,
5. The adjustments should be performed with the rated
power supply voltage (1.3 V) unless otherwise noted.

When replacing the head, check the both L-ch and
R-ch output levels and also those phases.
Procedure:
1. Playback mode.

(10kHz, -10dB)
PHONES
1) Play back the P-4-L100 in FWD mode and read the
VTVM (both L-ch and R-ch).
2) Change to REV mode and read the VTVM.
(both L-ch and R-ch).
3) Confirm that the level difference between step 1
and 2 is within 5 dB (both L-ch and R-ch).
