Replacement TAP assembly kit
Flat blade screwdriver
#1 Phillips screwdriver - stubby
#2 Phillips screwdriver
USB flash drive (FAT32)
o For collecting Auto-support Log File (ASL)

Verify with customer that data I/O to all drives has halted

Verify robotic movement has halted
Verify with customer that move requests from host have been halted

It is recommended that all tapes are removed from drives by customer before
procedure to avoid potential stuck tapes after power-up
T680 libraries have two TAPs. Confirm with Spectra Support which TAP is to
be replaced: upper (TAP 1), lower (TAP 2), or both
Procedure Overview

1. Power off library using front panel power button. At rear of library, turn off circuit
breaker switches and disconnect power cables
2. Firmly pull top edge of filter cover panel toward you to release top edge
(magnetically held in place), then lift panel upward and away from library
3. Loosen two captive screws at bottom of library front panel, lift front panel up and
remove
4. Disconnect sensor cable connector (left of TAP) from library chassis
5. Loosen captive screw located just above disconnected cable
