What to do if my Speed Queen Dryer won’t start?
    • B
      brittney12Jul 26, 2025
If your Speed Queen Dryer isn't starting, there are several things to check. First, ensure the power cord is fully plugged into the electrical outlet. Make sure the loading door is completely closed. Try pushing the timer knob in to start the dryer. Also, verify that the laundry room fuses aren’t blown or loose, and that circuit breakers aren’t open. Finally, the motor overload protector may have cycled; wait 10 minutes and try again.

Why is my Speed Queen ADE3LR Dryer not heating up?
    • C
      Carol CampbellJul 31, 2025
If your Speed Queen Dryer isn't heating, first ensure the timer is not set to COOL DOWN, COOL TUMBLE, or EXTENDED TUMBLE, and the Fabric Selector is not set to NO HEAT. Check that the laundry room fuses aren’t blown or loose, or the circuit breakers aren’t open; some homes have two fuses or circuit breakers for an electric dryer, so check both. Ensure the equipment and main gas line valve are turned on. Inspect the exhaust duct to the outside, ensuring it is not kinked, blocked, or in need of cleaning. Finally, check the weather hood to ensure the flapper moves freely and is not pushed in or blocked.

How to improve drying in my Speed Queen Dryer?
    • C
      Christine ThomasAug 5, 2025
If your Speed Queen Dryer isn't drying clothes well enough, start by checking the exhaust duct to the outside to ensure it isn't kinked, blocked, or needs cleaning. Also, check the weather hood to make sure the flapper moves freely and isn't pushed in or blocked. If using an automatic cycle, adjust to the MAX, MORE, or LESS DRY setting. If using a timed cycle, allow more or less drying time. Clean the lint filter. Avoid drying loads that are too small. Be sure to check the load; heavy items dried with lightweight items will not dry as quickly as the rest of the load.

Why does the cycle advance too slowly on my Speed Queen Dryer?
    • A
      Alexis WolfAug 10, 2025
If the cycle on your Speed Queen Dryer is advancing too slowly, remember that automatic cycles advance slower than the Time Dry cycle. Also, in an automatic cycle, the time it takes for the timer to advance depends on the type and size of the load being dried. When clothing has more moisture, the timer advances slower than when the clothes are more dry.

Why is my Speed Queen Dryer so noisy?
    • A
      amandawilliamsAug 15, 2025
If your Speed Queen Dryer is making unusual noises, check inside the dryer for any foreign objects like nails, coins, bobby pins, metal, or plastic toys, and remove them. Make sure the dryer is level. Keep in mind that normal operating sounds include the tick of the timer advancing, the heat source going on and off, and the humming of air moving through the dryer and exhaust system.

What to do if clothes are too wrinkled after drying in my Speed Queen Dryer?
    • K
      Karen SantiagoAug 20, 2025
If clothes are coming out of your Speed Queen Dryer too wrinkled, check the heat setting, as overdrying can cause wrinkling. Also, check the load size because large loads may not tumble properly, which can also cause wrinkling.
