The Splendide Washer-Dryer is a front-loading, automatic washer and condensing tumble dryer designed to offer maximum washing and drying performance while conserving energy and space. It features a stainless steel drum and an extra-large door opening for easy loading and unloading. The appliance is equipped with 9 wash programs, 6 water temperature settings, 3 dry programs, and a delay start option, allowing users to customize cycles based on fabric type and soil level. A maximum spin speed of 1200 RPM ensures efficient water extraction.
One of the key usage features is the Automatic Dispenser Drawer, which conveniently dispenses laundry aids such as detergent, bleach, and fabric softener at the appropriate times during the wash cycle. This eliminates the need for manual addition during the cycle. The appliance also boasts an Auto Water/Energy Control system, which automatically adjusts the amount of water and energy used for each load, eliminating the need for manual water level settings (high, medium, or low). This intelligent feature optimizes resource consumption for different wash load sizes.
For added convenience, the Delay Start Option allows users to program the washer-dryer to begin a wash program after a delay of 1, 3, 9, or 12 hours. This is particularly useful for taking advantage of off-peak energy hours or having laundry ready at a specific time. The Recirculating Wash Feature ensures that no detergent is wasted by recirculating and redistributing detergent throughout the drum, promoting thorough dissolution and maximum resource efficiency.
The Splendide Washer-Dryer incorporates an Automatic Balance System (ABS), which utilizes the latest motor technology to detect and correct out-of-balance loads. The motor adjusts its speed or temporarily stops to reposition the load automatically, preventing excessive vibration and ensuring smooth operation. The Impulse Spin Technology (IST) processor varies pulse in low spin for reduced wrinkling, less wear on clothing, decreased noise, and improved energy efficiency. For enhanced drying performance, a Dry Spin feature is included during Cotton Heavy Duty drying.
Safety is a paramount concern, addressed by the Safety Door Lock feature. This automatic lock engages for the duration of both wash and dry cycles, preventing the door from being opened when water or high heat and steam are present in the drum.
The appliance offers an Express Wash cycle for lightly soiled Cotton Heavy Duty or Permanent Press fabrics, allowing for quicker cleaning. The Water Temperature Knob (C) enables selection of wash water temperatures (HOT, WARM, COLD, or variations). The Pre-wash Button (E) adds an extra wash for heavily soiled loads. The Easy Iron Button (Rinse Hold) (F) prevents fabric creasing by stopping the wash cycle at the "Anti-crease" stage, allowing items to remain in the machine without spinning. The Low Spin Button (G) reduces spinning speed to 600 RPM for delicate fabrics in Cotton Heavy Duty or Permanent Press cycles. The Extra Rinse Button (H) adds an additional rinse cycle. The On/Off Button (I) controls the power. The Status/Door Lock Lamp (L) indicates the door lock status and program acceptance, while the Auto Dry Lamp (M) lights up when a dry timer is set.
For effective laundry care, the manual emphasizes proper sorting and preparation of laundry, including pre-treating heavily soiled areas and emptying pockets. It also provides guidance on using laundry aids, recommending low-sudsing, high-efficiency (HE) detergents and bio-friendly liquid fabric softeners. Users are cautioned against using excessive amounts of detergent or softener to prevent over-sudsing and potential damage to the machine. Bleach, when used, should always be diluted and is recommended for sturdy white fabrics only, with the use of the Extra-rinse button.
Maintenance features are crucial for prolonging the appliance's life. Regular maintenance includes cleaning the exterior with a soft cloth and soapy water, avoiding solvents or abrasives. The interior of the washer may require periodic reconditioning, especially in hard water areas or when non-phosphate detergents are used, to remove accumulated body oils and detergent. This involves running a complete cycle with HOT water and a non-precipitating water conditioner. The Detergent Dispenser is removable and can be easily cleaned under running water to prevent detergent build-up.
Monthly/yearly maintenance includes checking the Water Inlet Hoses for bulges, kinks, cuts, or leaks, and cleaning the filters and water valves. The appliance is equipped with a self-cleaning pump, but users are advised to periodically check the Pump Pre-Chamber for small objects like coins or hair clips that may have accidentally fallen in. Instructions are provided for accessing and cleaning this pre-chamber.
The manual also includes a Winterization Supplement for users with washer-dryers installed in boats or RVs, detailing steps to prepare the machine for cold weather conditions using RV-type antifreeze and subsequent flushing for reuse.
