Overview

The Splendide 2100XC Automatic Clothes Washer-Dryer is a front-loading, stainless steel drum appliance designed for washing and vented tumble drying of clothes. It offers a compact solution for laundry needs, suitable for various installations including luxury RVs, yachts, and apartment closets, where space might be limited. The machine is engineered to deliver outstanding washing and drying performance while conserving energy and water.

Function Description

The Splendide 2100XC operates as a combined washer and dryer, allowing users to put in dirty laundry and get clean, dry laundry out without transferring items between two separate machines. It features 10 wash programs, 7 water temperature settings, and 3 dry programs, providing flexibility for different fabric types and soil levels. The machine incorporates a 1200 RPM max. spin speed for efficient water extraction, contributing to better drying performance.

Usage Features

The appliance is designed for ease of use with a straightforward control panel. Users can select wash or dry cycles using the Cycle Selector knob, and adjust wash water temperature with the WASH TEMP Selector. The DRY TIME Selector allows users to choose the desired drying minutes, with a maximum load drying time of 180 minutes recommended for full, 11-pound loads. An extra-large door opening facilitates easy loading and unloading of laundry.

Several special features enhance the washing and drying experience:

  • Automatic Dispenser Drawer: This drawer automatically dispenses laundry aids such as detergent, bleach, and softener at the appropriate time during the cycle.
  • Auto Water/Energy Control: The machine automatically adjusts the amount of water and energy used for each load, promoting efficiency.
  • Safety Door Lock: This feature prevents the door from being opened when it is unsafe during operation. The DOOR LOCK LED indicates when the door is locked (solid light) or can be safely opened (flashing light). The door can be unlocked for up to 5 minutes into any wash cycle and at any time during a dry cycle by pressing the ON/OFF button.
  • Express Wash: For lightly soiled cotton heavy duty and permanent press fabrics, this option allows for quicker wash times.
  • More Rinse Cycles: Unlike many washers that offer only one rinse, the Splendide 2100XC provides up to 4 rinses, helping to remove more dirt and detergent from fabrics. An "Extra Rinse" option is available for those with detergent contact allergies.
  • Foam Removal System: The machine automatically measures foam levels and adds water to the drum to remove excess foam, ensuring optimal rinsing.
  • Recirculating Wash Feature: This system recirculates and redistributes detergent throughout the drum, ensuring all detergent is dissolved for maximum resource efficiency.
  • Automatic Balance System: Utilizing advanced motor technology, the machine detects out-of-balance loads and adjusts spin speed or repositions the load automatically to maintain balance.
  • Impulse Spin Technology: Splendide's exclusive IST processor varies pulse in low spin modes, which helps reduce wrinkling, wear on clothing, noise, and vibration, while improving energy efficiency.
  • Dryer Cool Down: The final minutes of the dry cycle involve a cool-down period without heat, tumbling clothes freely to cool fabrics, buttons, and snaps, which aids in safe handling and reduces wrinkling.
  • ENERGY STAR Compliance: The appliance is designed to use very little water and is up to 40% more efficient than non-Energy Star models.

Users can customize wash cycles with "Option Buttons" such as "Low Heat" (reduces dryer heat), "Pre Wash" (adds an extra fill at the beginning of the wash cycle), "Extra Rinse" (adds an extra rinse), and "Low Spin" (reduces high spin speed to 600 rpm).

Maintenance Features

The Splendide 2100XC is designed for low maintenance, with lint passing safely through a "self-cleaning pump" and then out the drain or dryer vent, eliminating the need for a messy wash or dry filter. However, some routine checks are recommended:

  • Turning off Water/Electricity Supply: It's advised to turn off the water supply after every wash to limit wear on the water system and prevent leaks. Unplugging the appliance during cleaning, vacations, or maintenance is also recommended.
  • Cleaning the Appliance: The exterior and rubber parts can be cleaned with a soft cloth soaked in lukewarm soapy water. Solvents or abrasives should not be used.
  • Checking Water Inlet Hoses: Users should check the water inlet hoses at least once a year for cracks, bulges, or wear, and replace them if necessary. Filters and water valves should also be cleaned. It is important to replace inlet hoses every five years to reduce the risk of failure.
  • Cleaning the Dispenser Drawer: The dispenser drawer can be removed, washed under running water, and reinserted as needed.
  • Caring for the Appliance Door and Drum: Leaving the appliance door ajar when not in use helps prevent unpleasant odors from forming inside the drum.
  • Cleaning the Pump Pre-Chamber: Although the pump is self-cleaning, small items like coins or buttons can fall into the pre-chamber. To retrieve them, the cover panel on the lower front of the washer-dryer can be removed with a screwdriver, and the pre-chamber unscrewed.
  • Checking the Dryer Vent: Occasionally, the outside dryer vent should be checked for proper airflow and to ensure it is lint-free.
