Removing / Refitting Rear Wheel

REMOVAL
Apply fingertip pressure onto
the metal key of adjuster sleeve
(2, Fig. 2) to release it from the
pull rod (3).
Remove Deflection pulley
(5, Fig. 1).
Unscrew special type axle nut (6)
and axle nut from other axle end.
Remove non-turn washers (7).
Remove wheel.
REFITTING
Fit wheel in dropouts and align.
Place non-turn washers (7, Fig. 1)
on both sides of the axle – the
serrations must bear against the
dropout – and the lug must
engage in the dropout slot.
Tighten up special type axle nut
(6, Fig. 1), and axle nut at other
axle end. Tightening torque
30 – 40 Nm (266 – 350 in.lbs.).
Guide tension chain (3, Fig. 1)
through deflection pulley (5).
Position deflection pulley at axle
nut (6) and push until it is felt to
lock into place.
Turn Deflection pulley until the
yellow area (4, Fig. 2) is at the
top.
See page 12 for shift adjust-
ment.
Advice:
The axle projecting at the dropout
must have a supporting thread
length of min. 8 mm for the axle
nut.
