Removing / Refitting Rear Wheel

Only T3 hubs with coaster- / drum
brake
Screw tight the corresponding
brake lever clamp (9, Fig. 3).
10 mm wrench, screwdriver,
tightening torque 2 – 3 Nm
(18 – 27 in. lbs).
Caution!
Clamp must sit on frame with
absolutely no play.
Use self-locking nut!
Attach fork unit (8) to brake
lever (7).
For NL version drum brake hub
with special lever (10), only use
original NL brake cable (fork unit
(8) is not suitable).
DRUM BRAKE
Fitting and changing the brake
anchor plates (Fig. 3).
Place thrust washer (3) over
axle onto adjusting cone and
insert the wheel assembly.
Fit washer (4) and spacing
sleeve (5) and screw on lock
nut (6). Press brake lever up
to the stop and hold in order
to center the brake shoes in
the brake drum. Tighten the
lock nut with a tightening tor-
que of 15 – 20 Nm (
130 – 177 in.
lbs).
Adjusting the brake:
Unscrew the adjusting screw (1)
until the brake pads drag lightly.
Actuate the hand brake lever
forcefully several times and
then, if necessary, turn the adju-
sting screw further so that the
brake once again brushes the
wheel as it turns.
Lock hexagonal nut (2).
Repeat the adjustment procedu-
re if the braking effect wears off
after prolonged use or if the
hand brake lever can be pulled
back fully to the handlebar grip.
Caution!
Only use brake levers with a
cable moving distance of at
least 15 mm and a minimum
leverage of 3.8.
Please contact your dealer if
the control cable needs
replacing.
