Overview

This document describes the HESP Series Solar Hybrid Inverter, an all-in-one device that integrates solar energy storage, mains charging, and AC sine wave output. It is designed for high response speed, reliability, and industrial standards, utilizing DSP control and advanced control algorithms.

Function Description

The HESP Series Solar Hybrid Inverter serves as the energy conversion unit for a complete solar power system. It can convert light energy from PV modules into DC power to charge batteries or directly invert it into AC power to drive loads. It also supports charging the battery from mains or a generator while powering the load. When solar energy is insufficient and mains are not connected, the battery and PV module power the load.

The inverter offers four charging modes:

  1. Only Solar: Prioritizes PV charging, with no mains charging initiated. This is the most energy-efficient mode, suitable for regions with good daylighting conditions.
  2. Mains Priority: Prioritizes charging from Mains Power. PV power charging starts only when the mains fail.
  3. Solar Priority: Prioritizes charging from PV. Mains charging starts only when PV fails or the battery voltage is below a set value. This mode fully utilizes solar energy during the day and switches to mains charging to maintain battery levels, ideal for stable grids with expensive feed-in tariffs.
  4. Mains & Solar Hybrid Charging: Prioritizes PV MPPT charging and supplements with Mains Power if PV energy is insufficient. Mains charging stops when PV energy is sufficient. This mode offers fast charging and is suitable for unstable grid areas, ensuring sufficient backup power at all times.

The inverter also provides two output modes:

  1. Inverter Output: PV and battery power the load. When Solar First Mode is selected, green solar energy use is maximized. It switches to Mains Power if PV fails. This mode maximizes solar energy use while maintaining battery power, suitable for relatively stable power grids.
  2. Mains Bypass: The inverter switches to inverter power supply only when Mains Power fails, acting as a backup UPS, suitable for regions with unstable power grids.
  3. Inverter First: Switches to Mains Power supply only when the battery is under-voltage. This mode maximizes the use of DC energy and is used in regions with stable power grids.
  4. Hybrid Output and Grid Connection: In utility bypass state, if no battery is connected or the battery is full, the load power is supplied by both PV and utility when the hybrid function is enabled. Surplus PV energy is fed back to the grid if the grid connection function is enabled.
